Why these defaults?

The country code comes from ISO 3166. Unicode CLDR supplies presentation-oriented locale, currency, paper, date, language, calendar, numbering, and direction metadata. Defaults reduce setup time; they do not decide what a valid document must contain.

Document vocabulary and checks

Burkina Faso's separate-VAT-display rule and certified-e-invoice rollout context are reviewed. Current applicability, full invoice fields, taxpayer-status, identifiers, VAT/exemptions, certification, transmission, filing and payment implementation remain separately researched scopes.

Evidence snapshot: 2 official sources · last reviewed 2026-07-18. This is scoped guidance, not a jurisdiction-wide compliance certification.

Tax labels: VAT. Business identifier labels: Taxpayer identifier.

  • Guidance: Burkina Faso Ministry of Finance material states that VAT must be shown separately on invoices for the relevant operations. The Ministry also launched the certified electronic invoice (FEC) programme in January 2026 and described a planned mandatory-use date. This local preview does not create a certified invoice, determine whether FEC applies, validate a taxpayer, apply rates or exemptions, or authenticate, transmit, certify, file, or pay through any government system.Evidence BF_MEF_VAT_INVOICE_DISPLAY, BF_MEF_CERTIFIED_EINVOICE · reviewed 2026-07-18 · review by 2027-01-18 · automation advisory only
