Country-aware checks
- Tax terminology: Umsatzsteuer (VAT)
- Business ID label: Umsatzsteuer-Identifikationsnummer (UID)
- An Austrian VAT invoice includes goods quantity and customary description or the nature and extent of services, supply date or period, net consideration and tax rate, tax amount labelled as VAT, issue date, a continuous invoice number, and the supplier's UID. Supplier and recipient name/address plus a detailed supply description should be present for input-tax certainty.
- Invoice copies and accounting records are generally retained for seven years; longer twelve- or twenty-two-year periods can apply to specified property records.
- Austria treats an electronic invoice as equal to paper with recipient acceptance and authenticity, integrity and legibility controls. Structured e-invoices are mandatory for supplies to federal agencies, while other public entities can differ. This generator does not submit to e-Rechnung.gv.at.
