Invoice for Sweden

Create a private, browser-local invoice and set the workspace to Sweden for SEK formatting and A4 print output.

Country-aware checks

  • Tax terminology: Moms (VAT)
  • Business ID label: Momsregistreringsnummer / Organisationsnummer
  • A full Swedish VAT invoice must show the issue date; a unique sequential number; seller VAT registration number; buyer VAT number when the buyer is liable under reverse charge; seller and buyer names and addresses; goods or services; supply or advance-payment date when different; taxable basis by rate or exemption, VAT-exclusive unit price and reductions; VAT rate; and VAT amount. Special wording is conditional for self-billing, reverse charge, exempt and margin-scheme transactions.
  • A Swedish correction invoice, such as a credit invoice, must identify the change and contain a specific, unambiguous reference to the original invoice, normally its sequential number, together with the other details required for a full or simplified invoice as applicable.
  • Businesses must retain supporting documentation and invoices for seven years in good condition, orderly and transparently. Location, language and accounting-currency rules depend on the business form and establishment context.
  • For invoices resulting from Swedish public procurement, suppliers and contracting authorities must use and receive structured eInvoices that follow the European standard; PDF is not an approved eInvoice format. The Swedish law took effect on 1 April 2019 and includes stated security-related exceptions.
