Why these defaults?
The country code comes from ISO 3166. Unicode CLDR supplies presentation-oriented locale, currency, paper, date, language, calendar, numbering, and direction metadata. Defaults reduce setup time; they do not decide what a valid document must contain.
Recorded official or regional-official language tags: es, qu.

Document vocabulary and checks
Ecuador's ordinary invoice particulars, seven-year sales-voucher archive baseline and signed/authorised electronic-comprobante versus RIDE boundary are reviewed from SRI primary sources. This printable Factura is not SRI-authorised: RUC status, physical-form authorisation, electronic signature, XML generation, transmission, authorisation, RIDE creation and transaction-specific IVA or ICE treatment remain separate checks.
Evidence snapshot: 4 official sources · last reviewed 2026-07-19. This is scoped guidance, not a jurisdiction-wide compliance certification.
Tax labels: IVA. Business identifier labels: Registro Único de Contribuyentes (RUC).
- Guidance: Ecuador's SRI sales-voucher regulation sets the ordinary invoice baseline. It covers the issuer's RUC and registered name, document denomination and authorised fifteen-digit establishment/point-of-issue/sequential number, issuer address, buyer identity when the invoice supports costs or tax credit, goods or services with quantity and unit where applicable, unit price, tax-exclusive subtotal, discounts, IVA rate and amount, total, issue date and remittance-guide number where applicable. Physical authorised forms also carry printing-authorisation, printer, expiry and original/copy particulars; status-specific legends and transaction-specific taxes remain conditional.Evidence EC_SRI_VOUCHER_REGULATION · reviewed 2026-07-19 · review by 2027-01-19 · automation advisory only
- Guidance: Article 41 of Ecuador's SRI sales-voucher regulation requires sales vouchers, complementary documents and withholding vouchers to be kept for at least seven years. Authorised electronic issuers must also retain the magnetic archive in the form required by SRI. Preserve the authorised source record and supporting evidence, not only a rendered copy.Evidence EC_SRI_VOUCHER_REGULATION, EC_SRI_RETENTION_NOTICE · reviewed 2026-07-19 · review by 2027-01-19 · automation advisory only
- Guidance: SRI describes electronic invoicing as an authorised form of sales, withholding and complementary document that preserves origin and integrity through the issuer's electronic signature. SRI tools generate, sign and submit the electronic document for authorisation and produce a RIDE as its printable representation. A Formnivo PDF is neither the signed authorised electronic record nor, by itself, an SRI RIDE.Evidence EC_SRI_EINVOICE · reviewed 2026-07-19 · review by 2027-01-19 · automation advisory only
