Why these defaults?
The country code comes from ISO 3166. Unicode CLDR supplies presentation-oriented locale, currency, paper, date, language, calendar, numbering, and direction metadata. Defaults reduce setup time; they do not decide what a valid document must contain.

Core Icelandic VAT-invoice particulars, statutory seven-year VAT-record retention and electronic-invoice/accounting boundary are reviewed. Registration, special documents, kennitala/VAT validation, transaction-specific treatment, public-buyer procurement details, Peppol transmission and compliant electronic-accounting artifact creation remain separate checks or unimplemented functions.
